Smart people- is there a reason these protests are during the week when most people are working? Is it supposed to slow work, like a semi-strike? If not, a hell of a lot more people would probably come on a Saturday.

I can’t speak for the organizers, but if the goal is to get the attention of elected leaders, I imagine that is much more effective when they’re in session and working.

Having worked in many buildings where protests have occurred, I have never seen policy changes as a result. But voters may might be swayed and public opinion can be influenced.

Two reasons: 1) March 7 is a day where Congress people are in their districts and therefore, their state houses and 2) there is a bit of a strike element to this. We are pausing work to take a stand! (Though it’s not an official strike)
