People don't throw beads at floats or riders. However, there are certain unmanned floats like Kong which are designated as targets, and that's OK. It should have been anticipated that the Cybertrucks, instead of being ignored like most marshall/VIP vehicles usually are, would become a target.

An acquaintance was riding in one of the swasticars as a volunteer to aid the marshals. The hired drivers were, apparently, angry that people hate Elon and his efficiency. So good job, NOLA!

It's unclear. Orpheus isn't a racist krewe. They've had Tesla sedans as marshal vehicles before, but EVs are common here due to subsidies etc. The Cybertrucks are the new part, and the drivers were also new. They seem to be a significant variable.

Orpheus is certainly one of the least racist krewes - being founded by Harry Connick and very inclusive, musician-focused krewe. Definitely a bad decision to rent those for parade officials and guests, however. I expect some apology and review.

I don't think anyone cares about the sedans. I think someone at the Krewe thought this would be a nice upgrade on their rentals and didn't think that the crowd would latch onto them as targets. Even though Cybertrucks have been ridiculed in public since they came out.
