I like the gridbased singleplayer; racing each ship on each racetrack, for each class. Might seem like a grind, but it’s not too bad 2/6

Weapon selection is messy, front the perfect balance in 2097, we get crazy stuff like three shields. Cloak, reflector and invincibility, what is this? An RPG? 3/6

Racetrack design is overall great, albeit with a too much grey everywhere. Don’t get me wrong, I like the more subtle colour palette as a contrast to 2097, but please more variety. 4/6

Gameplay is great, love the balance of using the shield as boost, weighing up the danger of speed versus protection. Somehow with a full set of opponents it always suffers from some stutters, even on a optimised emulator. 5/6

Overall, I love wip3out, it’s a great send-off for the series that never returned to its glory days of the PS1 trilogy. With lots of hours to dig into each race for each team! 6/6

Well summed up. It is too grey and there are too many defensive weapons but the balance is great and AI best on PS1.

The setup for racing is good but if you win a race on a faster class it should give you gold on a lower class!
