Some western leftists will go out of their way to tell them "No, you are a bad muslim, don't do that" rather than, at worst, shutting the hell up, at best, showing a lil' understanding.

They're hurting the people they're doing this to, and I think it's fair to wonder if they wouldn't want others to be hurt as well in a twisted, self-fulfilling prophecy to prove a point.
You can dislike religion all you want; I am a lifelong atheist myself, but being so irrationally hateful and smug you're tiptoeing into bigotry is actively harmful.
