They never do at this stage. My Dad was ATC for over 30 years, Watch Commander, including testifying at inquiries.

Growing up, I saw him, twice as a teenager, come home from work late when souls were lost in his airspace. Not the same man.

Most likely the pilots were MAGA type white, ex-military dudes.... as someone who has clocked a few million miles of commercial airline flights, I think I would only need one hand to count the "non-white male" pilots.
