Europe has no choice but to expand its own defense base. They've seen American attitudes to Europe and it would be best to expand their own independent capacities. Funding American arms only increases the chances of being cut off at the worst time (Ukraine) or being limited in how to use it

It should source everything from Europe. The French defense industry and it’s defense products, including nukes that would wipe out Russia, is already autonomous from the US. Germany, Italy, UK, Sweden et al have great defense industries. They need to grow.
