Mhh. I feel as if the tone is too similar your average Interactive Fiction.
The funeral is more of an excuse for us to be in town, maybe I'd put more emphasis on the supernatural component, the seven days, and the bonds that you form with the characters so "You won't save everyone." hits harder.
