I've been here. I wanted to play Fortnite for the Solid Snake content. Ultimately missed out on it because the idea of online multiplayer = pure anxiety.

A kid I worked with was into it in 2020. I played it with him. Only the battle royale mode which is definitely addicting cause when the season resets your set back with a bunch of level 1 people who are easy to kill and easy to get in the top 5. I ended up buying a Star Wars skin cause I’m an idiot!

This was exactly why I started playing, about a year ago, for the Lady Gaga collab (technically I had started playing a bit earlier for SW and TMNT skins, but those didn’t really stick).

A year later and I still play pretty much every week! The different modes are fun, especially with friends.
