No matter where you are in the world, look for news in media that's outside of our country's as often events in our own Country's are reported more accurately outside. Why? Right wing media bias. Rupert Murdoch etc

I feel like this advice isn’t really great in modernity. In 2000, this made sense. But now… You’re advice would have Canadians watching Fox News, Americans continue watching Fox News. Like Fox News is owned by Murdoch, and he’s from Australia.
I no longer trust American news media. I have BBC News, CBC News, and France 24 apps on my phone. France 24 is my favorite, as they truly give world news (I have the English version of France 24).
Fair play. I do the same. Most media I listen and read are outside sources, and can be very much more informative than whatever happens in this country. Have been using them since December. Anything that hasn't been stained with his name, other than a mention, is a breath of fresh air.
Not only that but getting a different perspective on events at home is valuable in itself. I travel a lot and I enjoy learning about new places - the more you see other places the more you see that we all face the same issues - there is no singular paradise
What's a good Aussie news outlet? I know it's not Sky News, during the Covid Freedom Convoy and subsequently PM Trudeau enacting the Emergencies Act, they called him a dictator.
Murderous Murdoch the corrupt lying liberal POS has his fingers up so many LNP arses it's ridiculous. Filthy evil bags of shit like 🦏 Rhinoarse, Stokes' and Palmer

Canada's own national networks; CBC, CTV and Global are not nearly as biased (individual political anchors aside)
The most polarized are the US. MSNBC at the left, Fox at the Maga right.
Peter Cronau, Defence reporter. Top notch reporting. https://declassifiedaus.org/
You, the public can easily ick when a journalist is spinning lines for people in power. You smell it a mile away.
On national news, you can say (insert geographic location here) is on fire and people on the other side of the country will believe you.
It's much harder to pull the wool over the eyes of the locals.
Frequently, I read the same story, sculpted to suit each story tellers bias. It happens all over the world.
