The dems did better than most incumbent parties, and trump is an Obama level candidate for low information voters. The Dems could very likely just pick a more charismatic candidate and do much better in the upcoming elections.

I am hoping for the best on the AI capex boom but fearing the worst. That a lot of it will be money sent down the drain and we'll be left with all these big, energy sucking data centers that don't even create any jobs.

Yes, normally I am. But the techies are moving very quickly to spend $80 billion a year, each, developing this infrastructure without knowing if any of it will even pan out or how we will find the energy to support it.

People are buying houses and traveling and getting promotions like crazy. Leftists should not be running from this. If biden wasn't senile he would have won again.

Who influenced post-2020 stimulus/spending the most? Manchin. Everything got trimmed back. Besides cash drops have been deployed across the aisle, no? Bush and Trump ea did two. As for the gov't spending, weren't the biggest geared toward industry vs household bottom line?

Are you saying the IRA and the turbo unemployment and the various stimulus provisions were not left wing at all or not left wing enough? it included three years of ACA subsidies, capped insulin at 35 bucks and added a tax on stock buybacks. what right wing policies were included in the bill?
