Same team we saw the week prior. Injuries continue to gut this team and what we have left just can't seem to execute cleanly through one game. The positive is our depth is getting a ton of real game reps and that is going to help develop the next wave of superstars....hopefully. rookie class looks 👌
I have decided he is uncommitted to his craft and to working on his craft, has a low ceiling as a kicker and perhaps the most damning, he has a permanent case of the yips. That being said @sanfrancisco49ers.bsky.social -- #firechrisfoerster #firebrianschneider
It’s just so pathetic. He arguably cost us three in the Super Bowl the niners absolutely could have won with. He has been a liability from the start and has not improved a bit
Lynch and Kyle’s terrible, awful, no good trade and subsequent pick in 2021 has finally caught up to them this season. Holes at every level that should have been plugged previously. It’s going to take 2-3 years of decent drafts to get back.
People saying Shanahan is holding Brock back. Let Purdy cook, then. Ad lib. Our writers flipped, we have no script, why bother to rehearse? Yes, I stole that from Animaniacs.
I think we should play hardball with Purdy. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I think we’ll regret signing him long-term if it impacts who else we can sign
Purdy is a robot in Shanahan's system (which he loves) but the 49ers actually need a QB with some creativity who will cover up some of Shanahan's mistakes
Purdy threw a pick to end the game with the season on the line. Playing for nothing but a monstrous contract and generational wealth he… threw a pick to end the game.
Rest everyone for next year. Purdy needs another half a second and a line that will get that for him. He is trying too hard. Monday night will not be fun. Skill players OK, draft linemen.
Kyle Shanahan is limited as a coach, because he cannot (or refuses to) adjust to the healthy personnel that is actually available to him, rather than the personnel he wishes he had at his disposal.
If they want to keep Purdy as their franchise quarterback (and they should) they should limit his snaps for the rest of this season. This O Line will get him seriously injured.
They need a DT, OT, C, DE in the draft. Trade up from 2nd round back into the 1st to make sure they get a DT and OT and have that 5th year option for both
Matt, to frame criticism as overreactions after watching that game is frankly beneath you. You legitimately called out this team & it’s leadership for the poor season they’ve had, & then scurried back to the “oh, the injuries” excuse and the party line. It’s not a good look on you. Lombardi 2.0.
My bad. Been a long time fan, and I’m just frustrated at the roster decisions and disregard for player wellbeing coupled with the acceptance of a substandard OLine.
Shanahan and Foerster said that they want to prioritize guys that score TDs for high draft picks. They need to rethink this philosophy since there never seems to be any time for Purdy to get the ball to these playmakers.
Purdy is far from the 49ers’ biggest problem. However, at some point he has to find a way to win games like this week’s or last week’s. These were winnable games had there been better QB play.
It is—and pass protection was bad yesterday but better than normal for sure—but is a completely predictable collapse—bad protection, no run game. We are asking a year three competent (but not a likely top 10 qb) to do a lot with very very little help
100% all true. That said, if he is going to be paid around $50 million a year, he has to overcome things from time to time. It’s too much to expect that all the time, but it has to happen at least on occasion. MIA, LA Rams (2x — and I acknowledge Bell drop) SEA, and AZ are all cases in point.
Basically I think if you have a B- qb, the going rate is gonna be very silly. You either decide to go into the wilderness (and risk being like the bears and just not having a QB for a long time) or sign a competent qb. Most teams are stuck with the latter as just better business and a better bet
They can’t just bring back Sorensen. It’s not just missing personnel. The D gets worse as the game goes by because the Offense figures out his vanilla scheme and that’s why they are -60 in the 4th quarter. Had opportunities to win multiple games on D in final drive, lost every time. It’s HIM
There are no overreactions left. It’s officially time for this season to die and for everyone from the front office to the players and coaches and even fans to clear their heads and think about something other than football for a month or two.

Here is the kicker: I’m not sure they can.
Which of course means Kyle WILL overuse him & he'll start the season on IR.
“Oh yeah… that’s the good stuff.”
Negative: Moody cannot be part of this team next year. The team got better consistency from the free agent scrap heap.
