I had listened to a podcast with Adam Conover and he said they weren't encouraging that at this time. It was a few weeks ago so I'm sure things can change but it doesn't sound like the union is ready to ask for that.

They don't have to ask for it. When workers are striking, don't financially support the companies they are striking against. That's all that you need to know.
