You see the counter, too. A man accused is pictured frowning or glaring. Mugshot not a smiling family photo. That is campaigning for a worldview. "Of course this is the killer. This is what killers look like." It reinforces the identity politics of the group saying they hate Identity politics.

It's so insidious that even when you know it, you still fall for it. The same people telling Black men that immigrants are stealing our jobs are the same people telling the world that Black men are lazy and don't take care of their kids. A man who lies on you lies to you.

I forget whether the 2016 "special issue" came from Time or Newsweek.

I DO recall, though, that its cover featured a regal Trump and Melania resplendent in their tacky-ass suite behind the logline "PRESIDENTIAL GLAMOR!"

This was months before the election.

Perfect example of such "journalism."
