Oklahoma 4.1 million population, about 63 colleges. Massachussetts 7.1 million population with 114 colleges. My family is from OK, specifically Indian Territory before it became a state. Generational poverty is a big factor.
I was born and raised in Massachusetts, but moved to Seattle in the mid 1990s and then in 2018 I moved to Northeast Wisconsin, somewhere in the middle! I can honestly say with no biases at all, smart people come from Massachusetts! 😎
Massachusetts has a different philosophy than many other states. They invest tax dollars in education, cultural institutions, healthcare because companies with good paying jobs will follow. Other states offer tax breaks to attract business. Massachusetts offer a better educated, healthier workforce.
