I live in Georgia, a state where a Canadian woman was arrested because a state trooper said a Canadian driver's license was invalid in the U.S.

I would advise Canadians to never come to Georgia. Ever. You are not safe here. I am not safe here.

I am also giving a similar warning to my lab people. As sad as it feels, it seems prudent especially since yesterday. If a legal permanent resident can end up being stuck in a prison in El Salvador, anything can happen to an alien at the border or inside the country.

I’d also add that there are particular risks for pregnant people, especially if they’re traveling to Texas, Florida, or another state with an aggressive abortion ban.

I'm an American & I'm so very sorry for how our administration is behaving. It's shocking & nearly unimaginable for many of us - only believable because we can see it happening. I truly hope we can solve this constitutional crisis & restore our relationship with our neighbors to the North & South.

I’m American and, sadly, I have to agree. They are even detaining American citizens who are returning from overseas and even from a weekend visit with relatives in Canada. If you do come, bring a burner phone with nothing on it but essential phone numbers, they examine people’s phones, emails.

Seems like this was the end goal somehow, but the US is now a 3rd world country, where travel insurance won't cover you.
I can't understand why an elected official would want that, but then again, why am I looking for a rational explanation?
