to be clear i am heavily against the outright replacement of games with their remakes, but i think the immediate kneejerk reaction people have started to develop to remakes as a whole isn't necessarily correct either (even if i can 100% understand where it comes from)
there's more nuance to this of course, such as the original outright being difficult to rerelease, an example is basically any game in the PS2 gen that used renderware since EA bought that up
but there's only so much i can fit in so many characters and i'm never sober after work anyway
i get what ur saying but companies absolutely want to replace art bc they make more money that way, and gamers are down with it bc they're philistines. it doesn't really matter whether the original is available when the result is the same
