My prediction is that Switch 2 will initially be positioned as a Pro alternative to Switch and be pricier. I don't think Nintendos main target audience cares about Switch 2 as much as we hardcores do. Its possible that they do a price cut too. But I would be surprised if its more than 50 dollars.
It's honestly kinda mind-blowing that nearly 8 years later it still has not received a price cut. And it's one of the best selling systems of all time.
I just hope the Switch successor is reasonably priced...
At the end of their life cycles, both the #WiiU and #3DS got price cuts, but handled them differently. The Wii U had a major drop in 2013 from $349.99 to $299.99, but no further cuts. The 3DS, after its 2011 launch, saw a big drop from $249.99 to $169.99, with more cuts on later models! 🎮 #Nintendo
that's why I mentioned "towards the end". Wii U dropped 50 bucks several years before the Switch. 3DS pretty much stayed at 169 or more, and 3DS still sells at a high price on the aftermarket.
