That's why I stopped reading the Harry Turtledove novels. Each one ended on a cliffhanger, then a good portion of the following book rehashed the action in the previous book.

Ikr, and yet I've done it.
Although I do tie up the main plot line, sometimes that's just where the story ends.

I only get grumpy if nothing's been tied up. Stopped reading Cassandra Claire because of Clockwork Prince.
