I honestly believe that all these investors knows that it’s failing but are just so scared of the bubble bursting and the economy taking a hit, that they would rather keep throwing money into the black hole of an “industry” to keep it from collapsing.

Completely agree. I think there’s also a slight psychological aspect. The tech boom was so big and lasted so long that many of these people cannot comprehend that they don’t actually direct the market. Fundamental attribution error—mistaking luck for skill or influence.
