Ran up, ‘you’re about to get hit by a dome you need to get out!’ They just looked as us and ignored the warning. We walked out and watched as the giant dome hit their shit.

To an extent, it's a bet that American capital will maintain its cockroach-like tendency to survive even the worst of disasters. Maybe I'll be wrong, but perhaps it won't matter in that case.
The first scenario is a genuine and catastrophic crash that we never recover from. Everything to 0, game over, thanks for playing.
Is there *anything* short of doomsday prepper type stuff that would realistically get you through that?
For me, I'm staying in total stock market index funds since I retire in 30+ years.
