When I first heard that they were remaking The Naked Gun with Liam Neeson, I was very skeptical. However, on watching this teaser, I think they've nailed it. Absolutely spot on for jokes and self awareness. My only criticism is that they make the new Frank look competent! 😆 - ThreadSky

Okay, that got a laugh out of me. I'm curious to see how this goes.

It's the one genre we're missing the most nowadays is a good comedy, let's hope this helps and is done well.

My big gripe is that he seems too active in the opening joke of the trailer. I think he was well cast if they do nail the tone of the original (or Police Squad, which I preferred) but if he gets too many actual jokes for himself like that then I don't think it'll go well

Well it stands to reason that they have to change stuff up a bit but the fun of the originals was Frank Drebin being incompetent but accidentally solving crimes at the same time. I hope we see some of that

My favourite aspect of it was always that there was basically constantly some level of sight gag or weirdness happening in the background or even directly to him and he would always remain completely straight faced throughout

I'm betting the first part is going to be a 'dream sequence' like how the first movie had them. The gag at the end of it had me though and I'm glad it's more of a successor than a reboot.

Oh yeah, I was still very sceptical of most of the trailer but the line of people paying homage to photos of their predecessors felt like the kind of sight gag they'd have done in the original and that last bit made me laugh pretty hard. I am cautiously optimistic at this point

It was the OJ dig that got me. I'm a little more optimistic after thinking on the trailer some but we'll see how it plays out.
