Like, the EU countries have 27 votes in the UN General Assembly. India has... 1 vote, even though India's population is more than 3x that of the whole EU.

It's always been weird to me that this is just accepted as normal.

(I mean, I know the UN is looking fairly powerless rn, but still.)

The Partition of India was a disaster for millions of people, as any such partition along religious or ethnic lines is doomed to be.

OTOH, I don't think it should be taboo to discuss possible benefits of splitting huge countries into smaller ones. If it can be done without bigotry & displacement.
