He pasado por ahí.
Estuve días en Setubal, Lisboa, Fátima, Coimbra, Oporto.

Y un recorrido en bicicleta entre Santiago de Compostela y Sevilla en seis días por Chaves, Mirándrla, Vila Flor, Vilar Formoso.
Unos 135 km/día y un total de 800.

It is indeed. I see it in France; the numbers seem 2B increasing each yr. Though, culturally, I think most are prepared for the very different culture here in #Europe

Yes it is... I wish for Portugal that it will have a positive effect. Yet I can't see it...not in your country nor in the other southern European countries... it becomes more and more challenging for the locals in many aspects... and they should be the ones coming first and benefit from it.

My family left Portugal for France during the Salazar era and now it’s been two years since I returned.
I know immigration well and my family here has never complained about it quite the opposite.

Yes, you're right! The Portuguese "Golden Visa" program has changed.
Since 2023, new applications for real estate investments are no longer accepted.

I haven't been there in around 25 years? I do remember that beautiful long beach - Praia de Luzia Mar. A fantastic walk and very suitable in the month of May for us pale northern Euopeans who get sunburnt very easily. 😁

Portuguese can be a bit difficult to learn especially because of pronunciation and grammar but with practice it’s definitely doable.
Many Portuguese people especially the young ones and in cities speak English but knowing some basics of Portuguese is helpful outside of cities.
