Make that the policy and they’ll just increase the tax rate to keep the tax income the same. Do you really want to pay the full amount they estimate you’ll pay now but pay it all while also paying for the house or car? No thanks!

Like what other countries? All of Europe has property tax in addition to transfer taxes. To just name one example. You’ll also pay taxes on owning a car everywhere in Europe. Agreed. There are many old people that become homeless because they can’t afford their taxes.
