They are called jails..she will have to use the notwithstanding clause to strip citizens of their Right to consent to medical treatment. Will it extend to alcohol if you drink and drive?

(sigh) this is just another swipe at "junkies", because they "know" that people using narcotics are just those looking for a high and not those using them to control pain because they've been waiting months or years for surgeries or psychiatric help.

It is more likely a person starts using hard drugs because they are unhoused. Housing first initiatives provide a lower drug relapse rate than forced treatment.

This is one of those "There are many regional health districts and so it's possible to run a variety of experiments" things.

Just pray that the more humane efforts elsewhere show to be obviously more efficacious. Society is still in the experimental phase of figuring out this crisis.
