the trans women in sports bans have been such an effective wedge against ppl who are ostensibly trans allies bc combatting those bans requires an actual understanding of how trans women's bodies work and that has never been a high priority in cis allyship

well said. there was a time when I was a clueless ally (or rather just an oblivious interloper) and I would have fallen into the same traps. learned about HRT and it changed my mind. (also started taking HRT. ;)
