Really stupid question, assuming you have a paintbrush tool - for the Milky Way (or whatever the faint cloud pattern is), can you pick a color and change the opacity so that it’s somewhat additive and have it barely show up until you paint over it? Or are you picking the final color?
I never use opacity when picking colors, what I do is make my base palette to do the drawing, then at the end I go in and adjust each color so I get a nice low contrast that flows together. I feel like opacity is cheating (it's not) and I feel this way gives me a greater understanding of my colors
I didn't actually answer your question lol, I'm just drawing with a pencil tool, making blobs and paint bucketing them, but yes you can use opacity and a blending mode to do what you describe
