So when you grow from seed, do you plant now or wait for the warmer weather? Keeping them outdoors? And they need to staked tomatoes, i think, cuz the plant will grow all over the place, and squirrels/birds will eat the tomas. I think.

I am using a seed starter kit and grow lights indoors. Then I'll move them to pots. I got varieties that grow well in pots and are tough. We don't own our place so, even though we have space for a garden, we aren't going to put one in. Not doing our landlord any favors at all.
Besides, at 7000ft, the sun fries everything. It is extremely dry here too so I have had better luck in pots. This is the first time I'm starting from seeds. I don't really know much about this and I suck at growing stuff out here, but, hopefully it will go ok
i see...sounds like a good plan! I hope one day you have your own place...i own my condo...it's really comforting to do pretty much whatever i want to do...tho we have the HOA rules, the homeowner still has alot of leeway. Plus it's so much cheaper than renting!
I don't think we'd ever be able to afford that, but it would be nice not to worry about how much rent will go up or if the owner is selling every year. My partner rented this place 14 years ago. 1/2
2/2 Landlord was only raising $50/year presumably to cover property tax increase. This year, he wanted to raise it $500 so it was comparable to other rents in the area. Our management company talked him down to $250. We have literally bought this house already.... 😞
In our complex you can buy an 900 sq condo for about $130k and we are in a nice area. i bought mine in '98 and got really lucky cuz the owner only wanted to balance due on his mortgage which was really low. So i got it for a steal!
