Venting/update I guess My dad passed away on the morning of the 4th. I had previously thought he had passed away months ago, but never had any official confirmation. Just based off what my mother told me at the time she was contacted about him being in the hospital. A part of me hoped he was alive. - ThreadSky

Venting/update I guess

My dad passed away on the morning of the 4th.
I had previously thought he had passed away months ago, but never had any official confirmation. Just based off what my mother told me at the time she was contacted about him being in the hospital. A part of me hoped he was alive.

I learned that he was still alive through a distant family member over social media. Out of nowhere, told he was back in the hospital again, and that I was deferred to for medical decisions due to him being unresponsive. His brother wanted no part in it. No other living family so I was next pick.

Having to hear about his condition updates were miserable. Hearing what he was going through, and ultimately making decisions I wish I didn't have to. In the end he went peacefully the morning he passed, and I hope he's in a better place wherever that may be. No more suffering or pain.

I have never gone through a loss like this before. Its surreal. My mind is continuing to remind me he's gone, trying to let it sink in. I am not a religious person so the idea of not speaking to him, hearing him, or him talking to me never again is so hard to grasp. Going to struggle with that.

We hadn't talked in years, and our relationship wasn't perfect. I still love him very much, and remember so fondly everything we did together, how much he supported me even with the smallest endeavors, took interest in my hobbies, just everything.
I'll never forget you, and I'll always love you dad.
