Wow! What a ride. Would be at home alongside Angela Carter’s Bloody Chamber stories. A very adult fairy tale whose meaning isn’t obvious. I feel like I’m missing the context here, and it would have benefited from an introduction of some kind. But still; really funny, vivid setting, recommended!

I have so much to say for Gombrich’s world history. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read! Next up Yoko Tawada’s Novella, The Bridegroom Was a Dog, given to me by my sister :) She generally picks good reads so I’m looking forward to it
