I understand the frustration. It's unfortunate that some people misuse their faith to justify hate. True religion should be about loving one another, not spreading division.
Jesus was talking of the effect of the gospel versus worldliness. That his disciples would face danger as they spread the gospel. And true to his words for 300 years Christians were persecuted by Jews and Gentiles even unto death by sword.
Millions are persecuted still for being Christian... look at your very pointed comments against people you don't know personally only identifying by group based on a religious label.
Man is prone to violence and discrimination regardless of faith or belief.
It also says in the Bible, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." It's only gods job to judge people according to the holy book, so just remind them they are being bad Christians by judging others. Naughty Christians π
100% agree. I get angry when I see it used for hate, but it helps to know where that hate originated and that it's not from the bible but a reprinted bible from Germany during ww2. Thet put their hate in God's mouth.
If your religion makes you hate, any other religion you pick will probably just make you hate someone else; itβs a common MO. To make you feel like youβre succeeding by believing, they mix in arbitrary tenets with the morals, so you look upon others, regardless of how moral they are, as lesser
ππThat's true. If a religion spreads hate, it's not really about faith. True beliefs should bring people together, not make us feel superior to others.
I don't think people are being beaten until laying bloodied on the ground because of their sexual orientation in the US, or did I miss that? Maybe in middle east or elsewhere. Take that hate talk elsewhere dude.
In my experience, religious labels are useless for determining a person's character. That said, jerks looooove using their label as self-justification.

AC/DC knows.
John of the Ladder knows, too:
Man has always sought dominion regardless of society or beliefs allowed in it. Usury of 'christianity' is no exception.
Rome was pagan, Greece fathered war, Native Australians and all aboriginals use conflict of some type.
Man is prone to violence and discrimination regardless of faith or belief.
