Is there an alternative to the bitvec crate?

It's great, but it's a bit unmaintained (for good reasons, no shame on the author) which is causing some problems.

I need BE and LE loading and storing of various integer types for a u8 array or slice.
Ideally it'd also support LSB0 and MSB0 config.
