[2/6] Well known author, activist and journalist Yves Engler who is currently detained for criticizing a Zionist influencer on X will spend the weekend in jail waiting for a bail hearing scheduled for Monday morning at 9:00am in room 3.12 of the Quebec courthouse in Montreal.

[3/6] Engler was nearly released today but prosecutors insisted on imposing conditions that he could not refer directly or indirectly to the Zionist media personality/activist who’s legal firm pressured police into filing these frivolous and politically motivated charges against him.

[4/6] As an outspoken voice for Palestine and well known political figure Engler refused these conditions meaning he will spend the weekend in jail until at least Monday when the court will hear arguments on wether or not these conditions that limit his freedom of speech are reasonable or not.

[5/6] Engler is being held at the Bordeaux jail in eastern Montreal. During today’s hearing he stated that jail staff had limited his ability to phone his lawyer and had refused to provide him with a pen and paper to take notes during his calls with council.

[6/6] He is in relatively good spirits considering the circumstances and insists on maintaining his freedom to speak publicly about these outrageous and politically motivated charges against him. He has asked supporters to pursue maximum visibility.
