I've been getting recommended r/singularity on Reddit and some of the folks there are confused about why people don't like Sora.
One particularly sad person actually got in a fight in a filmmaking subreddit because they refused to accept that "artist intent" is what gives "meaning" to a work.
the funniest/dumbest part of it all is that large language models *cannot* reason, they're not even built to, and people are throwing billions at chatGPT "powered" apps that will never be able to do what is claimed.
I hope so, but it is helping companies profit. It’s helping abusers abuse. It’s helping exploiters exploit and scammers scam. I think the malicious use cases are already so prevalent and examples of the material are flooding every digital information platform
It’s replacing people’s jobs and doing an unbelievably worse job, it’s discriminatory, it’s being used to sexually abuse women and girls en masse, it’s poisoning the information ecosystem, it’s being used to scam and deceive, no one wants to watch AI generated movies literally no one asked
It is like watching the crypto phase x 100. Blockchain and crypto have some real use cases, as does generative AI but 99% will be used for and by bad actors.
