Tbf I'm sure I don't have the whole picture, not in the US and viewing the whole thing online (mainly social media), which distorts. But It's so weird the US treats this like it's normal. If Trudeau ever said "I'm taking over Canada Post" there'd be an immediate "the fuck you are" and he'd be gone.

I think it’s important to point out that it’s illegal and part of the problem is mass media isn’t doing so enough! Unfortunately they’re doing all these things so fast that there’s not enough time to protest all of them, esp. for a mass of people who’ve been this civically unengaged for so long.

No argument there at all. I'm generally inclined to be pretty forgiving of media, but there really does need to be more of that in the mainstream. But so many people seem to think that saying "he can't do that" is the end of it and I'm afraid we're going to learn that it's very much not.
