I've given it nearly a month, but I'm giving up on my Linux on the garage PC. Too many little things.
The final straw was trying to find a Bluetooth adaptor that
a> was recognized
b> actually worked with all the devices I want

Paired but non functional Bluetooth speakers pushed me over the edge.
