I don’t think Crawford is a primary factor. The only good OFs in free agency want multiple years & big money. The Phillies have money coming off the payroll soon & not adding any term gives them maximum flexibility moving forward

It's fine. If he stinks, then it's back to Marsh in LF, Rojas in CF, and some unexpected contributor that most teams find during spring training. Try to get someone better at the trade deadline. As long as the Phils don't flame out, they'll make the playoffs and then anything can happen.

He’s a fine addition as a fourth outfielder. $10 million? That seems absurd at the face of it but salaries have exploded and it’s not my money.
