I heard on NPR this morning that Kisten Gillibrand (NY) pressed Schumer to vote for the bill to move ahead... and Schumer caved to his own outdated political instincts and Gillibrand's treachery to America?
Obama (2009-10) had to fight holdout Senate Democrats tooth and nail to pass his ACA. Net result: House Democrats took a "shellacking" in the 2010 midterms.
