I assume because it doesn't glorify war and so is anti-American and doesn't help make our boys willing cannon-fodder. Oh excuse me, doesn't help make them "Real Men".

Our guitarist Glenn wrote his master's thesis over the personal novels of Vonnegut, which includes "Slaughterhouse-Five." The reason it's been banned is because it contains the f-word and, most explicitly, a soldier calls a military chaplain (Billy Pilgrim) a stupid motherf---er at one point.
