Not cheering, but I'd like to say that the shooter killed one man and caused one family to grieve while United Healthcare is responsible for the deaths of thousands and has destroyed many families.
I'm not advocating that. I would note that the mundane and banal evil of killing people by denying health care in a nice, tidy boardroom is no better than that.
Neither is good. But when people celebrate one or the other, that makes it seem normal. People are celebrating a guy being gunned down in the street (not you, but a lot of people).
Yeah. There's a distinct difference between calling for someone's death (which is never acceptable) and cheering when someone who has caused real harm meets their end. And yes, I am sorry for their family's pain, but not enough that I don't feel joy that an abuser can no longer abuse.
Simple, our medical care is not in the hands of doctors. It is in the hands of insurance.
How many hoops must you jump through to get the care the Doctor recommends?
I'm not cheering but I feel nothing.
I don't judge the ones that do.
You Reap what you Sow for Greed!
People die waiting for care.
"Health Care" companies = such a fucking oxymoron are currently forking over 10's of Mn's of $$$ to private protection companies, b/c they're scared shitless of the ppl that they've denied coverage too.
I say wipe out the pols that are bought & owned by these same Co's while we're at it.
I’m not abdicating murder, but as a person who has been chronically ill all her life and now has chronic pain to add, I can honestly say that I am not sad. I also totally understand why he did it. There’s a point to which everyone dealing with insurance themselves or a loved one, thinks about it….
