I loved it. Very old-school and nothing like it anywhere these days. The close up magic is amazing. Where else in LA is everyone dressed up in an old Victorian mansion, drinking, laughing, and having fun? Sure it’s not perfect but what really interesting place is? Go.
I’ve been a couple of times and really enjoyed it! One time my husband went with work & didn’t think he’d have a good time without me - he was there past midnight having the time of his life. 😂 And he is not the type to want to stay out & party, so I will say - definitely magical. 🥰🩷
It is a wonderful place, especially if you've a good guide who can show you around the first time. The close-up magic room & the close-up bar downstairs are my fave places, along with Irma's piano bar. And the seance room. The food is quite good if you're an omnivore. I'd say it's magical, for sure.
I may be in the minority, but just found it to be meh. We wound up with this old guy who told racist jokes while he did card sleight of hand tricks. Was 10 years ago. Haven’t been back since. Don’t feel like I’m missing anything.
Been there a few times and it’s a lot of fun. The dinner is ok, but the drinks and the shows have always been worth it. Definitely get there early for the close up magic gallery shows.

The castle itself has the kind of vibes you’d want, the food isn’t great, and the best magic in my experience is from the wandering magicians, not the floor shows. Definitely worth going at least once!
