Several reasons…at one time, people added me to 42 of them. I got TONS of garbage followers that I had to block, took me forever! With packs, all people do is follow everyone in it for numbers! I believe in quality not quantity. Where’s chatting with each other like in boost lists? My opinions!

I use https://clearsky.app/ some, and I always check feeds before following. I definitely have a sense there are “follow farmers” on Bluesky posing as Dem activists. I may have followed some in the post election chaos, but I’ve gotten much more cautious in the last week or so

It also helps to read a few of their 'replies' when vetting. One follower had an anti-trump page but ALL their replies were hateful maga rhetoric!
I try to 'like' a few posts/or repost something of folks I follow too.
