Groups repping NY's school boards, superintendents and principals aren't on board with Gov. Kathy Hochul's "bell to bell" smartphone restrictions in schools.

It puts them at odds with the teachers unions, which are backing Hochul's plan.

Not really. Teens still don't have the brain development to deal with a product designed using gambling principles to capture every moment possible of their attention.

If dismantling the Department of Education, then this falls back on the states, so the states can decide what they want to do.

So states who are living in the past will get further behind

Best thing we did at my school was bell to bell phone ban. Noticeable uptick in attention and progress from students.

Wow, damn. Yea, she is for sure right.

When I taught K-12, we just told kids not to have their phone out in class. But that then led to them going on social media in the bathroom and starting stuff that way.

It was a great school, but this would’ve helped a lot.
