Personally, I don’t do nihilism. Just about the only thing about my private life Tolkien would approve of is the fact that I view giving into hopelessness as tantamount to sin. Everyone does it, but how you make up for it matters, and trying not to matters.

That’s the biggest sin as far as I’m concerned. Trying to dampen someone else’s light. It’s unkind, irresponsible, and it makes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
But I am 1000% fueled by spite. I am taking those good things, thank you very much, and you won’t be taking them from me.
