I think Itō being 当事者 is the crucial point here. I've read various opinions and thoughts from people I respect, and to varying degrees they're all right... Nornes, Yang and others have raised valid, agreeable and fascinating points, but...

Perhaps Ito could have done better to anonymize people or get consent — she makes this film as a 当事者, however, which makes her case different from other journalists and filmmakers.
