I remember reading about Soviet “farm workers” been given a 8 hour day to sow a certain acreage crop. As soon as the government man was gone they would raise the tines so they just penetrated the ground and put the tractor in high ratio and be done in 3hrs then go drink. No care for harvest.

This is one of the great unspoken reasons why Vladimir Putin is determined to annex the entirety of Ukraine. It's not for political nor security reasons. And it's not only ideological. Ukraine is the breadbasket of the entire region. Of course he wants it.
