Broken Bethesda, Broken Ubisoft, Broken Red project (it did fix it) , they are the ones with budget and a full team and the resources, their scope is faulty? may be i precipitated in calling the lazy word, but they don't accomplish at the end of the day..
Putting aside bugs, I'm talking about full game mechanics that have been implemented (inside the software capabilities), in this case to not go far from the question regarding the sheat feature missing in rpgs, is like Ghost of Tsuhima, it's wonderful what the sheath brings to immersion.
Ghost of Tsushima has a fixed protagonist with a fixed weapon. That's exactly the kind of game where detailed weapon animations are expected these days. RPGs are less likely to have such animations because they have more characters and more weapons.
