For the first time in over a year, I attended a virtual affinity club (Employee Resource Group) within my company, for Black folk (+allies), because it was about election melancholy.
I went in there a listened a bit, while still working a little. And the meeting was 65% Black, 30% white, 5% POC.

We just need to come together, not lose hope, educate (this is the word the activated me).
I (virtually) raised my hand started writing out my talking points (Clubhouse lessons).
By the time I got called & starting talking, succinctly yet passionately (as always)…
The Black man moderator was nodding deeply in agreement…
I touched on lack of comprehension, critical thinking skills & overall literacy. The assault of the Dept of Ed. The dangers of echo chambers: manosphere, anti Queer/Trans, African Diaspora wars/anti-immigration…
Afterward the comments were going off in agreement and I felt proud of myself for speaking up. Dassit.
