Sasha Baron Cohen made a show in 2018 titled "Who is America". I think he found something interesting about Americans where culturally - being made to look stupid is the absolute worst thing that can happen to you. They would rather do anything than admit they were fooled by something.

Many of us have exceeded our parents in education, employment, knowledge, etc. & they can't come to terms w/ the fact they are no longer "all knowing" like when we were kids.
So they fall for these lies & resent us for it.
"No, you're not 'going crazy.' That expert's truth doesn't make sense to YOU because they're LYING and YOU are actually clever enough to see through it!"
Successfully affirm a moron of THAT? You become their GOD 😉
And I'm not against "religion." Religion is adorable. Everybody should have fun group activities to do on the weekend.
It's BELIEF that causes all the problems - believing instead of thinking. That's when the witch-burning and bombing starts.
Many of us got baptized as babies and we can't undo it (it's up to the bishop, mine won't undo it and statistics are based on what's on paper).
Am i missing something?
