Arsenal put nearly all their crosses either along the floor or at barely waist height since Everton have so much size in defence. But in the first half, Arsenal got Little into good cutback positions time and again in the right channel.

It went into overdrive when Mead and Stina came on. Mead, Fox and Russo linked up time and time again to create overloads and balls into the channel. Again, all deliveries into the area were kept low due to the height of the Everton defence. Mead had 0.8XGA (highest on the pitch) in just 30 mins.

Loved seeing Beth play with a bit more freedom. For the Russo goal she had the option to pass to Mariona but chose the slip pass. She’s able to provide the right weighted passes consistently, though this season she’s attempted less, she attempted 4 in this game. She always shows up in defence too.

yes indeed, I think it's clear she hasn't hit her pre ACL levels yet but this was a good step. So much of Arsenal's play was channeled through the right I think that involvement really helped. But she remains very capable of great assists (like for Stina v City).

Tbf her return last season was probably above expectations, 2nd G/A Arsenal contributor in the WSL. A lot has occurred for her and the team in that time which has probably impacted her and other players confidence. An uptick from her and team at the back end of the season is just what we need!

i love guest mead so much. her footballing intelligence is just tops, even if, as you said, she still hasn't gotten back to pre-injury physical capabilities.

being able to do mariona+little is just ridiculously pretty football. foord being back is such a huge boost.
